Joining a church, although an important part of belonging to a church, is not the ultimate goal of belonging. Belonging involves becoming a member of the family of God by sharing in the life and mission of the church. To really connect with God and truly belong to a church requires we surrender our personal agendas for a cause greater than ourselves and recognize “It’s not about me; it’s all about JESUS!” We exist as a church community to accomplish the mission of God – sharing the truth of God’s love through His Son Jesus in word and deed to a lost world.

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and to prayer…every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. Acts 2:42, 46a

There are four levels of fellowship which make up the church community:

  1. Belonging by Uniting in Community.
  2. Sharing by Interacting in Community.
  3. Serving by Partnering in Community.
  4. Loving by Caring in Community.
