As the old Beatles song says, "I get by with a little help from my friends." We all need encouragement from time to time as we deal with life's circumstances. No matter who you are, your life is not perfect. We all have an "ideal life image" that does not match what real life has become. Grace Life offers people hope and encouragement to help them overcome emotional, mental, behavioral, and spiritual challenges of life.

Almost all Christians, at one time or another, deal with doubt or a feeling of "not measuring up." Or, you may secretly wonder, "What's so great about the Good News?" Grace Life is passionate about helping Christians understand their identity in Christ and how that new identity of "full-acceptance from God" replaces the old identity of "trying harder." We offer discipleship classes throughout the year that addresses such issues as: doubt, finding peace in your life, the life of your family, and understanding your relationship with God and others.

Our lay counselors are nonprofessional helpers who have been through an extensive training program using the "Exchanged Life" model. After being trained and mentored by a professional counselor, they are equipped to assist others in achieving wholeness and health. They are prepared to walk with you through some of life's common struggles. By focusing on spiritual health and healing, you can experience freedom and joy every day. Discussions are highly confidential and counselors are assigned based on issue and gender.
Staff counselors are also available. Counseling fees are paid for by First Baptist Church, so you will not incur any cost. This service is provided free as a community support.

Becoming a part of a small support group of people who are experiencing similar life struggles is often a component of God's plan for our healing. It is too easy to detach from others and not experience the blessing of connecting with people with similar experiences. By interacting with other people, you will learn there are those who understand what you are feeling and who will be able to offer you encouragement.
Grace Life support groups provide and environment for change in the context of community. God has always used community as the backdrop for his work in bringing about growth in people's lives. Our support groups offer a setting designed to address specific life issues such as: Divorce, Grief, Addictions, Co-dependency and marriage issues.
